As our Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for balancing inventory and costs to achieve agreed service levels for customers. You’ll provide sales forecasts, limit obsolescence risks, support launches new product launches, and work closely with all stakeholders in the Operations, Quality, Distribution/Logistics, Manufacturing, Sales, and Finance departments to maximize opportunities and limit risks in achieving targets.

Your responsibilities include:

1. Operational tasks, such as:

• Proactively balancing demand with supply, ensuring demand increase and decrease trends are understood and communicated to the right stakeholders
• Analyzing and planning the availability of materials at all production sites, taking into account sales and production expectations and material delivery schedules
• Enabling the purchasing department to place, approve, call off, and deliver orders on time
• Mapping potential inventory risks (both internal and external) within the supply chain, analyzing – in a timely manner – these risks and bringing them to attention without stressing the communication between departments
• Managing material revision changes (in collaboration with the BoM coordinator and production planner)

2. Applying theoretical knowledge with regard to problem solving:

• Proposing improvements, based on analyses and scenario calculations, to minimize risks and to enable the growth and optimization of the supply chain
• Being responsible for optimizing planning variables in the ERP system

3. Identifying opportunities and threats within frameworks and policies where problems and situations are of a specialist nature

4. Structuring processes, making proposals for improvement, and implementing them:

• Monitoring and optimizing the delivery reliability and delivery schedules of suppliers in collaboration with the purchasing department

5. Preparing and participating in the monthly Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP)

6. Keeping procedures and work instructions up to date

7. Acting as a sparring partner and backing up the Manager Planning and other planners in the department

8. Providing progress reports and dashboards for the planning department in accordance with the applicable procedures and regulations

Functie-eisen

• Technical university degree in Supply Chain Management, or successful experience (five years) in Demand & Supply with strong background knowledge;
• knowledge of demand planning, inventory management, supply planning, master data management, and logistics processes;
• knowlegde of Microsoft Dynamics AX;
• extensive knowledge of and experience with planning processes ERP systems and MRP processes
• Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt);
• able to focus on short-term issues while not losing sight of the long-term Supply Chain requirements;
• proficiency in working with MS Excel;
