We are looking to hire a Senior Level Project Engineer for a Managed Service business unit. The role will be based on our client’s facility near Eemshaven (Netherlands). The successful candidate will manage a number of small to medium scale CAPEX projects and will act as the client’s representative on a large scale datacentre.
Managed service is where our clients outsource the delivery of small and medium sized capital projects to our specialist project delivery teams. Managed service teams are based on client sites and operate in place of the clients in-house project and engineering resources. For decades, our Client provides a comprehensive managed service to clients across Europe and Asia.

You will act as the client point of contact for all matters related to the projects in the portfolio assigned to you, including:
Preconstruction
- Work directly with client stakeholders to ensure project scopes are accurately and comprehensively defined and documented.
- Work with the PM Group Planner / Scheduler to create and manage the Project Schedule, based on the critical path and key milestones.
- Work with the client’s Cost Manager to develop and manage the Project Budget, including all soft costs and hard costs.
- Liaise with client stakeholders to ensure their inputs are captured during all phases of the project life-cycle.
- Support construction contractor pre-qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis and recommendations.
- Coordinate with the PM Group Design Team and any third party designers to ensure all design deliverables are complete and issued as per schedule.
- Ensure Design and Constructability reviews are being completed on projects, as appropriate.
- Drive Lean Engineering and Value Engineering initiatives.
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting to client.
Construction
- Manage Contractors and Vendors on the ground.
- Ensure Scope Changes are being assessed and approved prior to implementation.
- Schedule monitoring, tracking and reporting.
- Ensure project delivery risks are being identified and mitigated.
- Tracking of all key project documents, including submittals and RFI’s.
- Ensure invoices are being received and payments made.
- Establish close out documentation requirements. Collect and track receipt of all close out documents until completion, including as-builts and O&M manuals.
- Manage punch list, substantial completion and completion process.
- Negotiate, resolve and close out any outstanding change orders and quality issues.
- Continue to liaise with client stakeholders to resolve open items, escalating where appropriate.
- A minimum of 8+ years experience in the delivery of small to medium capital projects from design through to construction and commissioning in the Mission Critical / ICT or allied sector.
- A third level degree, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to produce quality work and achieve project deadlines within budget.
- Excellent commercial skills with the ability to manage projects to budget hours and costs.
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
- A forward planner who identifies and resolves project issues.
- Proven experience in delivery of multiple concurrent projects.
