Job Purpose.

This position is for Java software engineers who will take place in the Global Cash Management Development team.  This team provides technology solutions to support the Fund Order Placement and Fund Information Reporting needs of Direct Investors, Financial Intermediaries and Portals.  The Development team is responsible for the full software development lifecycle from analysis to implementation as well as supporting the production environment. The candidate will have experience in delivering software solutions to time and quality. The candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global team environment.

Role Responsibility.

-Working directly with Clients and internal teams to understand and align the Client business processes and needs with managed technical solutions.

-Developing applications using several architectures including multi-tier/client-server.

-Work alongside internal and external project managers, technical leads and analysts throughout the Software Development lifecycle: understanding business requirement, system design, development, testing, deployment and documentation.

-Along with team members, providing ongoing, production support on existing systems and services  and resolving operational issues while working with support and development staff located in many regions and timezones.

-Develop program logic for new applications or analyse and modify logic in existing applications.

-Code, test, debug, document, implement and maintain software applications and components.

-Demonstrate an understanding of internal systems and the financial services industry.

-Analyse requirements and translate business requirements into product designs.

-Write technical specifications and other forms of documentation.

-Conduct planning, analysis and forecasting activities to plan projects and tasks.

-Provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals.

Essential Technical Skills.

-Writing clean, robust and manageable Java code – for server and client side

-Writing unit and integration tests – applying test automation

-Java EE, Spring framework, beans lifecycle, IOC/DI concepts

-Writing web applications (based on Java) using: JSP, JSF, servlets, Spring MVC and struts,

-Experience in using scripting language and scripts frameworks e.g. Javascript, Javascript frameworks (Prototype, jQuery)

-Application of software design patters

-Code debugging, problem tracing and problem solving

-XML processing and transformations with: SAX, JAXB, StAX, DOM, XPath and XSLT

Designing XSD schemas

-Writing code for distributed, multi-platform, client-server environments where concurrency and response times are crucial

-Using Hibernate, JDBC API as well as writing advanced SQL statements

-Designing, creating, debugging and maintaining web services (XML/SOAP or RESTful)

-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

-Strong attention to detail and thoroughness

-Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and learn quickly

-Excellent communication skills to enable clear articulation while working with internal teams  and Clients

-Demonstrated interest in the banking and finance sector
