Employment agency Manpower is looking for a Junior R&D/TS&D Technician for Dow in Terneuzen.

As a R&D/TS&D Technician, you will be working in a team of chemists, engineers, and technologists and you will be responsible for providing basic technical support in the synthesis and characterization of inorganic materials and heterogeneous catalysts. On a daily basis, you will perform the following working activities: 

• Working as part of a team and use existing procedures to provide technical support in the synthesis and characterization of catalytic materials 
• Safely executing laboratory work requests, maintaining and running relevant laboratory equipment and document data in Electronic Lab Notebooks and researching reports 
• Effectively communicating results and progress to project teams 
• Upholding outstanding housekeeping and safety standards and provide ideas for improvement opportunities in the projects and the workgroup 
• Maintaining inventories of consumable materials, chemicals, and supplies

Functie-eisen

• At least a mbo-4 degree (Secondary Vocational degree) in polymer chemistry, polymer science, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering (or in a similar field) 
• Working experience as a chemical analyst, laboratory assistant, R & D technician or in a similar position is a plus 
• Availability of 40 hours per week 
• In possession of a VCA is a plus 
• Ability to commute to Terneuzen 
• A valid Dutch work permit or EU-nationality     
• A certificate of conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag or VOG) that shows you have not committed any criminal offences
