DevOps Windows Linux  C#.

The DevOps Engineer will design systems and architectures that include software, hardware and communications solutions to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. As a DevOps Engineer you will work with collaborative ICT Infrastructure and Development teams to ensure client technologies are functioning as efficiently as possible. You will be responsible for installing, operating and maintaining a heterogeneous environment consisting of servers running Linux, VMware and Windows. The servers are used to host web applications, and include Apache, Tomcat, Oracle, and MySQL. Network devices include routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers, and network attached storage.  A full suite of compliant security and management applications are also included.

As a DevOps Engineer you shall ensure architectures are in compliance with open systems standards as they apply to the client’s environment. Evaluate compatibility of information system development efforts with agency architectures and recommends adjustments, as appropriate. Evaluate problems of workflow, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action. It is optional to function as a team leader for less experienced systems architects.

So in this role, it’s also important to collaboratively work with software engineering as well to deploy and operate systems and infrastructure. You will help automate and streamline development operations and processes. You will build and maintain tools for regression testing, deployment, monitoring and operations. And troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test and production environments.

This is a challenging, technical diverse, and fun position for a DevOps Engineer dealing with Systems, Development and Testing.

Some DevOps Engineer activities and responsibilities.

-An individual with strong background in both Windows and Linux Administration.

-Experience with automation/configuration management.

-Experience with CI / CD tools such as Jenkins.

-Experience deploying IIS hosted websites (MSDeploy is of great benefit).

-Deep understanding of network infrastructure (experience with configuring load balancers is a big advantage).

-Good virtualisation experience (bonus points for Proxmox / KVM clustering).

-Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services.

-Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (Oracle and/or MSSQL experience is a plus).

-Experience with Powershell.

-A working understanding of code and script (we are a .NET operation but do as much as possible in *nix).

-Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.

-Professional or academic educational background.

-Good communication skills, speaking and writing in English.
