Our client, an Italian contractor active in the international construction sector, is expanding in the Netherlands. They now have about five projects in the Netherlands that they are working on and expect to add several more in the coming year. For this organization the Netherlands is a new market and therefore they are looking for the right people to strengthen their team here. In addition to the Amsterdam location, they are active in Noordwijk and at the Port of Rotterdam. For their Amsterdam location we are looking for a Chief Accountant.
In the position of Chief Accountant you are able to coordinate the team and make sure that everyone takes her responsibilities and carries them out as carefully as possible. In addition, you are the permanent link between the tax consultant and liaise with the external accountant if necessary.
In addition, you will be responsible for:
– Working with head office staff to establish and maintain the accounting rules applicable to the country;
– Working with the Cost Control department for the monthly reconciliation of costs and revenues;
– Preparing and finalizing financial statements according to the closing requirements of Headquarters;
– Ensure the proper preparation of all tax returns (CIT & PIT) and VAT returns as well as other regulatory and tax services in accordance with applicable tax regulations;
– Comply with all requirements to government agencies (statistical reports, etc.);
– Monitor compliance with the subcontractor’s chain of liabilities and bring potential risks to the attention of the Project Managers and the Manager of Finance and Administration;
– Managing company operations (convening meetings and taking minutes of meetings of company bodies, archiving documents, proxies, etc;).
– Issuing customer invoices and ensuring that customers receive invoices according to internal procedure and customer requirements;
– Oversee and maintain accounts receivable, prepare monthly report in accordance with internal procedures;
– Perform all duties as assigned by the Finance & Administration Manager from time to time.
Job Requirements
– Excellent knowledge of Englisch and, preferably, knoledge also of other languages;
– Familairity with teh accounting principles;
– Good knowladge of accounting, contracts, legal and fiscal requirements;
– Good experience in managing a team and organizing the activities in coordination with other departments;
– Degree in Economics, Accounting or related field;
– Relevant experience in similar roles, structured and organized mindset;
– Good knowledge of ERP systems and MS office Suite.
Salary and Benefits
– Salary between €6.000 to €8.000 gross per month, based on a 40 hour workweek;
– Travel allowence will be included;
