Your code is designed for easy maintenance and scalability. Integrating on-premise and cloud-based applications using web services is second nature to you.

Job Description

In order to support its anticipated growth and the need to scale the business accordingly, ITpreneurs recognizes that an efficient and effective IT platform is a strategic business enabler.

The Platforms team designs the overall IT platform, supports and guides technology selection processes, leads the implementation of new systems, manages and implements system changes, maintains and updates systems as well as supports and trains users.

Reporting to the Director of Platforms, the Cloud Developer will design, build, test and maintain integrations within the ITpreneurs platform, as well as between the platform and the systems of customers and suppliers. There where ITpreneurs identifies a competitive advantage for a custom solution, the  Cloud Developer will, build, test and maintain such custom solutions.

The Cloud Developer has three primary responsibilities:

1. design and develop robust and scalable application integrations, both internal to ITpreneurs as well as with the applications of external partners
2. design and develop robust and scalable applications and application extensions that give ITpreneurs a competitive advantage
3. maintain and extend the ITpreneurs IT platform

This is an exciting role in a newly-formed team which is expected to grow rapidly along with the company as a whole. As a new role in a new team, there is a lot of room to shape the role, the team and your future opportunities within the team.

Candidate Profile

• Min. a Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology or a related field
• Min. 4 years development experience
• Min. 2-4 years experience a similar role
• Demonstrable experience in architecting software solutions from (business) requirements
• Fluent with Java, Javascript, PHP, Python
• Fluent in SOAP, REST, XML, preferably WSDL and XSLT too
• Experience with .NET, C# and Visual Studio desired to help maintain legacy systems
• Ability to work with version control systems: SVN, Git, TFS
• Preferably experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and/or other cloud IaaS and PaaS environments
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to work effectively without day-to-day guidance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in a geographically distributed team is desired
• Knowledge of the corporate education and training market is an advantage
• Excellent written and spoken English is essential for this role. English as a native language is an advantage.
