The OPS Engineer is responsible for running and changing the WAS application in the DevOps team. Besides the support activities, the OPS Engineer implements change requests based on his/her broad knowledge (T-shape). The OPS Engineer is capable of taking over the basic activities of other DevOps team members in case necessary.

Together with your business analyst, testing and development colleagues you are part of a project team that is responsible for changing and running the Finshare application. The team consists of 5 people (BA, Dev, Test and Support).

Being flexible and taking ownership forms the mind-set that is necessary for this function. Together with the team you are driving and initiating delivery innovation.

Our department 

The Wholesale & International (W&I) domain is one of the five domains within the IT Systems organisation. The W&I domain within IT Systems supports the client and products (Financial Markets and Corporate Banking) systems for the wholesale bank across the globe. W&I is characterized by the complexity and fragmentation of the current IT landscape. 

The Lending & Transaction Monitoring Delivery Unit delivers and supports global business systems in the areas of Wholesale Lending (ACBS/Flexcube), Anti Money Laundering (AMLDC) and working capital solutions for Asset Based Finance (FinShare). 

We are extending the ABF team with an OPS engineer. The team is responsible for the application FinShare from vendor Premium Technology. This application is providing working capital solutions by means of invoice discounting and trade receivables programs. This customer facing application has functionality to: upload and validate invoices and receivables, select eligible invoices & receivables, generate a proposal, and generate payments and loans for the downstream systems. 

Main focus is to implement new modules in FinShare, set-up CI/CD pipeline for Finshare, knowledge sharing with the ABF team, setting up a WAS Guild, and supporting production.

Our requirements

  • A Bachelor degree in IT
  • MUST: Capacity to work according to the principles of integrated management (no separation between Technical and Functional Management) and DevOps
  • MUST: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical management of application running on Linux in conjunction with IBM WebSphere Application Server and Oracle databases
  • MUST: Technology essential: WAS, WPS, Oracle DB, Linux, Deployment automation (XLDeploy) Tomcat, JBoss, Apache
  • PRE: Technology desirable: LDAP, WMQ, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
  • MUST: Flexibility, hands-on and taking ownership from the mind-set that is necessary for this function.
  • Experience in web facing client applications
  • Experience working in accordance with ITIL (e.g. Incident, Problem and Change management)
  • Fluent in spoken and written Dutch as well as English
  • Customer focus: truly understanding customer needs and being able to think from their perspective; 
  • Collaboration: sharing information and knowledge with others;
  • Experiences with collaboration with external vendors with the focus on Development (Premium IT is based in US/China)
  • Be able to combine one or more technical specialties with the capability of taking over basic activities of other specialists on the team T-shaped profile (analysis, development and testing). 
  • You have experience in working in complex international organisations 
  • Knowledge of and experience with Agile, Lean and ITIL.
  • Fluent English and/or Dutch; good communication and influencing in both languages.
